Take Me Out to the Ballgame! St. Monica’s Celebrates MLB Opening Day 2026

There is an unmistakable magic in the air when the first pitch of the baseball season is thrown. For the residents at St. Monica’s Senior Living, it signifies more than just a game—it’s the return of a beloved American pastime and a wonderful way to foster social engagement within our senior community.

This week, we transformed our beautiful community spaces into a mini-ballpark to celebrate Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day. The energy was electric as residents gathered in our theater-style seating to cheer on the Brew Crew. To make the experience truly authentic, we made sure the "concession stand" was fully stocked with all the ballpark essentials. Our culinary team served up:

• Classic Stadium Hot Dogs: Wrapped in foil, just like at American Family Field!

• Fresh Popcorn: The irresistible scent filled the hallways.

• Root Beer Floats: A nostalgic treat that was a massive hit with everyone.

The team spirit was on full display as residents and staff donned their favorite sports apparel. From classic Milwaukee Brewers jerseys to Washington Nationals gear, the friendly rivalry added a fun spark to the afternoon. One of our residents even stole the show in a "Hank K9" shirt, honoring the Brewers' legendary unofficial mascot.
